What was the last thing you bought for your new RV?

We always encourage and THANK our loyal customers for taking the time to make mention of our work. Neil Hobbs, owner of a brand new Thor ACE gave us a nice testimonial on irv2.com. . .

We have a new Thor A.C.E. and we replaced the cockpit window curtains with MCD day/night shades. The work was performed by Steve Smith, the owner of Tropic Shield in Spring Valley, CA. In addition to the shades, Steve also built and installed valances. He is quite a craftsman and we could not be more pleased with the results. We highly recommend Tropic Shield to anyone considering the purchase of MCD shades.

Here is an excerpt from the irv2.com website. The link to the actual post on irv is here.

My husband and I have a Fleetwood Revolution le a 2007 model. We love our motorhome but I hated the factory shades, they were so difficult. Steve from Tropic Shield here in San Diego, was installing some shades for our neighbor and they looked so nice, our neighbors invited us in and showed us how beautifully they worked and we were sold….. We made an appointment and Steve came and measured our windows and before we knew it he had our shades and was here to install them. We had our whole coach redone with the mcd shades and the front cockpit with one solid electric shade across the windshield. We went with the day shades and night shades and I am here to tell you those night shades block out all light, you could sleep all day and not even know it is day light outside. The shades look and work fabulous! I highly recommend Steve from Tropic Shield for your installation, he is very professional, tidy, and gets the job done in an efficient manner….. and he is a super nice guy
One other thing, Steve can build beautiful valances for your shades and has many fabrics to choose from to match or enhance your coach. We did my valances in a beautiful woven wool fabric and then covered some buttons for some accent, I am really happy with the way the shades and valances look and operate. Thank you Steve at Tropic Shield Sunshades.

MCD blinds help in San Diego

We just started full timing in August and made plans to have new MCD blinds put in at the factory in McKinney, Texas. We made arrangements to have them manufactured prior to our arrival on Sunday (Oct. 14) and installed on Tuesday, leaving on Wednesday (Oct 17), so that we could spend our 36th wedding anniversary in San Antonio on the Riverwalk.

MCD was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our short time there. The blinds look great and we are very happy to have them. However, just prior to our arrival in San Diego, one of the blinds came out of the clips and fell on the floor.

We called MCD and they put us in touch with Tropic Shield Sunshades here in San Diego. Steve contacted us right away and made plans to come by the coach here at Mission Bay RV Park. He arrived right on scheduled time and replaced the blind and put in another clip that would hold it even stronger. He also fixed one of the blinds that was not going all of the way up and was moving very slowly. He even came back one other time to re-adjust another blind. One of our neighbors was so impressed that he is having Steve order and install the blinds in their Revolution.

I can’t say enough nice things about Steve and Tropic Shield Sunshades. If you are anywhere near the San Diego area and looking to get MCD blinds installled, then call Steve at (619) 667-0476 or his cell at (619) 851-2219. I do NOT normally do these type of endorsements, but was really pleased with his knowledge and performance, so this one is easy.
